To-day the Primo Minister is expected to reach Nelson overland from Westport, the Hon. R. M'Nab is at Dannevirke, the Hon. J. A. Millar in Marlborough, the Hon. J. M'Gowan at Auckland, tho Hon. W.- HallJones, the Hon. G. Fowlds, and the Hon. Dr. Findlay at . M Fire Inspector Hugo will leave to-morrow on a short visit to Australia. Major. (Mrs. Harry Coghill), well-known on' the vaudeville stage, was a passenger from Sydney by the Ulimaroa yesterday.. Mr. W. Pryor, secretary of tho Employers' Federation, leaves this morning for Napier and Gisborne on business connected with the Federation. Mr. F. W. Rowley, Deputy Chief Inspector of Factories, is at present on a departmental visit to Auckland. He is expected back on Saturday night. / Mr. J. D. Bees ton, manager of the Australian Agricultural Company, with headquarters at Newcastle, New ; South Wales, arrived; in Wellington yesterday by the Ulimaroa. Sir James Mills, managing director of the Union Steamship Company, arrived back from a visit to Australia by'tho Ulimaroa yesterday. He was accompanied by Lady Mills. The Rev. Father Holbrook, of Auckland, is still lying seriously ill at the Mount Eden Hospital, It is feared that he will not be able to resume his duties in'.tho parish of St. Patrick's for some time to come. Miss Stella Esdaile, of Melbourne, formerly well-known on tho Australian stage, arrived from Sydney by tho Ulimaroa:. yestorday, having made the trip for the benefit of her health. Miss Esdaile is a niece of Mrs. M. Nathan, of the Te Aro Hotel. A Press Association cablegram from Fremantle states: Mr. Leopold Acland, ; the Canterbury station-holder, who was lately sovercly injured' by a tiger while hunting in Bengal, was a passenger by the Britannia which arrived hero to-day (Wednesday). Mr. Aeland bears evidence of his encounter with tho tigor, but his general health is good. Two Now Zealand students at Edinburgh University, Messrs. W. Johnston and H. F. Holinden, who both come from Wellington, havo been, appointed demonstrators in practical zoology at their university. Both Mr. Johnston and Mr. Holmden wero medallists last year, and, both won'honours in the last winter's term. These appointments aro the only two such made in tho University, so that Now Zealand has beeu singularly honoured.
