' •; 1 •A. •' In connection .with'the Wolverhampton elec--tion, it was stated that the Catholic Bishop ,of Birmingham supported tho Unionist candidate on account, of the Government's Education Bill, 'and 'that the English Catholics ■voted for him. ; On the other hand, tho Irish Catholics voted for the Liberal candidate (who won by 8 votes) because the Home Eule organisatiohs were satisfied with Mr. Churchill's assurance as to tho Government's attitude to Home Rule. .
