The. following are the results: — Huntervillo match: .200, 500, and 600 yards, seven shots, handicap included—Private W.-Oklfield, 455., 97; Captain Barjtrop, 255., 95; Volunteer Pleasants, 175., 95; J. Jacobsen, 155., 95; Captain Barlow, 12s. 6d., 95; Private R. .Taylor, 10s., 93; Volunteer F. Ploasants; 10s., 93; Bugler Howie, 7s. 6d., 93; Private Gardner, 7s. 6d., 92; Volunteer Mayhew, 55., 91; R. Reid, 55.,, 90; Bells, os., 88. 200 yards match, seven shots—Rifleman N. Small, Captain Meldrum, Volunteer T. Belk, J. Wing, Rifleman W. Oldfield, Rifleman Pleasants, ■ Rifleman ,R. Johnston, A. R. Munro, 33 points each. 500 yards match, seven shots —Bugler Fergusson, 34; Bugler Howie, 33; Rifleman Oldfield, 33; Captain J. Barlow, 33; Volunteer J. Jacobsen, 33; AV. J. Jones, 33; Captain Barltrop, 32; Rifleman R. Taylor, 32. - 600 yards match, seven shots —Volunteer L. Pleasants,-Volunteer Mayhew, Volunteer A. Wakeman, Captain Barltrop, R. J. Teams-match,:,-silver-cup and £4 for :the first team,-and. £I,for' the 'second team. Ranges, 200, 500, and 600-yards—1. Man-' Chester, Rifles; 460 ;-2. Pukeoka-hu Riflo Club, 423; 3. Huntervillo Rifle Club, 418; 4. Mangaweka Riflo. Club, 414. The individual scores of the winning team were: —Captain Barltrop, 95; Volunteer L. Pleasants, 95; Volunteer S. Mayhew, 91; Volunteer L. Belk, 91; Sargoant Fisher, 88; total, 460. Captain Barltrop, the highest, scorer in tho winning team, was awarded . Mr. M'Manaway's gold medal. Mr. E. D. Hammond's spccial.prize for tho best aggregate scores at 200 and 6(X) yards was won. by Rifleman Roy Johnston, Mangaweka Riflo Club, with 64 points. Mr. F. C. Berry's gold medal for best aggregate score at 200, 500, and 600 yards was won .by Rifleman W. Oldfield, Marton Riflo Club, with 97 points. This trophy must be won three times to be secured outright. • Mr. A. A. W. Henderson's challenge belt for the best aggregate scores, at 500 and 600 yards was' won by Bugler Howie, Hunterville Mounted Rifles, with 64 points. Rifleman Oldfield and Volunteer Jacobsen also obtained 64 points, but Howie secured the belt with the lowest handicap. A. gold medal presented by Mr. M'Manaway goes with .tho belt. Mrs. White's belt, to be won threo times to bo retained permanently, and -awarded for. the best aggregate at 200 and 600 yards, was won by Rifleman W. Oldfield with 64 points. Somo of the competitors indulged in a handicap sweepstake at 500 yards; Wakeman, with 33 points off tho riflo, was the winner with a prizo' of 15s. Tbo other winners were L. Pleasants 33, 10s.; J. Wing, 32, 55.; Captain Barltrop, 31, ss. Thero wero no competitors from Wanganui this year, tho action of tho oouncil in including handicaps in the teams' match probably accounting for their absence.. The shooting, on the wholo, was poor, Captain Barlt-ron's 94 off tho riflo standing well to tho foro. The others obtained their wins with tho aid of handicaps.; R-ain fell during part of tho day; making things rather miserablo for tho competitors.
