THE TERAWHITI DROWNING CASE. ■ The body of the fisherman, Antony de Gregorio,'. who was drowned off Terawhiti oh Wednesday, has not yet boon recovered. His companion, Matteo Cacace, who was rescued, stated that he was working with tho deceased'in a small ;boat., The sea was quite calm for a while, but a strong S.W. wind suddenly sprang up, and it was followed by. a heavy sea.. wiw capsized, and both the occupants were thrown ,in the water. Search, was ,immediately, instituted' for, Gregorio,' but. the body was never seen. Cacace was none the worse for his experience. Mount6d-Cdnstable_' Sims, of the., Mount Cook station, mado a,careful examination of the beach, for three,or four miles on each side of the place off which' tho accident .took place, but it was,-without Tosult. There was a strong: undercurrent running at the time, sufficient to carry, the body out to sea. The deceased. arrived in tho Dominion two years ago, and was a single manj twonty-four > years of age.
