The only qualification to bo noted is the provalenco of moth, aphis, and phoma- .in the [.turnip crops of Canterbury arid of; Taieri- in- Otago.' Southern farmers havo lately been' urging Government to investigate these, blights, in tho hopoof more effectively' controlling them, and .it seems that/ there [is "good need of: some such' work if turnip' growing is/to be 1 continued. Possibly. I)r. Cockayne's,, ■ plant-breeding work will give. the .desiral relief.
