Tho hearing of tho charges against Frederick Hall of attempting to murder Alcxarider James Muir, arid of 'attempting to fire a rovolvor at Constable Moriarty, came 'on at the Lyttelton' Police Court to-day, and excited interest sufficient to draw a crowd to the courthouse. The injured man Muir arrived by the. 9.55 a.m. train from Christ-,' church to attend the Court, and his arrival caused quite a stir, a considerable number of people following hinv along' the street. He appeared, to bo still'suffering from tho effects of his wounds, and had to sit in Court while giving evidence. A considerable quantity of evidence relating ,to the alleged crimes was heard, and Hall hvas committed for trial at tho next criminal-sessions.
