A message received from Wellington today stated that it is understood that a' conference will bo; heldr in - Christchurch . to-. norraiv between Messrs. '.•Pritchard and Webb, representing the Blackball miners, andrepresentatives ,of the Blackball Company with, a view to settling the troubles at the mine. , ■ •' :> • Seon in regard to the above: telcgra'm, Mr. A. A. M'Kelhir, ageiit for the 11 Company, stated'tha.t on-Tuesday week last tho secretary of tho Union telegraphed asking if the' Company would receive a deputation from tlio Union. Tho Company consented todo so, and it was decided to hold the conference on Tuesday last. Owing to tho holiday festivities in connection with-the Otira - tunnel, however,., the conference was postponed till to-morrow. Any arrangements ' made'by the deputation will bo submitted to a full meeting of tho Union.
