Ibt TEi.Ecnirn.—mEss association,) • • ' . ; : Christchurch, May, 6.'v The Hospital and Charitable Institutions Bill was considered by the Hospital Board .today, when a number of amendments suggested by a special sub-committee were approved of, the principal • being ■ that the clauso providing that tho appointment of any medical officer or matron should be subject to the approval of tho Minister be* struck out, ■ also the clauso limiting-the rate of subsidy. It was decided that, appeals should be made to the Supreme Court instead of to tho Commissioners or Minister; that the Board should have power to soil any lands vested in it which lit was not ■ considered necessary to hold. The proposals relating to the election of committees' in sub-districts were, disapproved of, c;i the grounds that endless friction would ariso between the various, committees and tho Board.
