His Excellency e begged me to inform you that tho King was very pleased when.he read the mgssago from s his' Maori chiefs-of tho Rongokako ■ Maori e Council." . t J Warm rains have been falling 'for the past a fifteen hours, - and several portions •of the f ■ district arc in-a state of flood, ij Labour'is at present very plentiful in tho ,jf "Wairarapa, .but the demand is not so great 0 as wa3 anticipated owing to tho fall in the price of wool. ■ A, number of farmers, who in provious years have made a.point of spending largo sums of money in,improving their properties, aro this year doing almost nog thing in'this respect/.
