-4 — TENDERS TO BE CALLED. A HANDSOME BUILDING. Cabinet On Saturday evening decided to authorise the calling of alternative tenders (two and three stones) for a Post Office at To Aro (Wellington). It was within tho last three or four ! years that the business of the Wellington Central (or Te Aro) office was removed (» a ' ' separate building in Gliuzneo Strcot. • Tho : facilities this gave resultod in a very largo increase in transactions, and now the business Has outgrown tho'building. To provido a now Post Office of adequate size, and to servo the area known as Wollington Central, tho Government recently purchased a valuablo sito at the corijor of Loeds and ' Ghuznoo Streets, .having a 63ft. frontage to ' tho formor and 102 ft. to the latter. The sito is immediately opposito Marion Streot. Tenders aro to ho cnllcd on a plan prepared by Mr. J. Charlc-sworth, which provides for cither a two or a throe-storied edifico. . Tho building, which .occupies tho • whole of the block, will bo handsomo "yet utilitarian in appearanco.
