WHAT WILL' FOLLOW THE AMALGAMATION DECISION? _ Now that the question of the amalgamation of th© \yairarapa and Masterton ■ A. and P. : Associations has been settled,, at, -least for. some years, writes-our AVairarapacorrespondent, there is . much discussion as to what will-bo-tho policy of cither. Society toward each other. Will tliero be the same .friendly- rivalry as has existed; hithertoj. :or •will thero be a war .to'the knife, : with the survival -'of. the fittest?' . Although, the opinion has been expressed that -the supporters of thij Wairarapa Association must not look for any special help in the way of . entries from its own and portions .of the Masterton' district, such a proceeding would bd extremely regrettable owing to the fact that the whole valley is so indissblubly associated, not only in connection .with -'its farming and commercial interests, but also in a personal sense. All-the towns of the Wairarapa feed in a measure on each other, and it seems to bo a mistake to resurrect an old-time feud, which would dislocate ' business and destroy, many friendships/ No doubt there is a good deal of feeling on the subject'now, but it is to be.'itrusted, ; for the good of the district-generally., that this will have died away in the course.of a few months, and that tho two .associations, and their supporters will _ again work ' together in friendly competition ; with ' each other.
