The following replies wore! received:— ":' ■ "Dear. Sir,—l am in;receipt of your belated inquiry. lam opposed to all advertising oir the Council's. "property,: tickets or otherwise. :. If/wo do allow advertising at all,then I am opposed to tho advertisements you Tofer to; and to all such-like things,, and will seek'to/prevent .them by conditions.- • "Yours in haste, '• \ : \ " T. W. HISLOP." Dear Sir,—l am in receipt of your favour of 27th ihst., and in .reply thereto I would not be in'favour,'of /advertising /alcoholic liquors on back of'tram, tickets, and if tho question, came directly'.before the Council, and I happened .to ( .'bo there, I would vote against':/it.' /.Howover,-1 /suspect that .the Council'are, not/ directly . connected with the advertisements that jipbear cn the. tickets. . I suspect-that .the-privilege-/is..sold to. a firm' of- advertising agents, arid they in turn obtain the sundry advertisements.
