. MEETS HIS FIRST PARLIAMENT. : . BT TELEGRAPH—PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPI'EIGm (Rec. April 30, 10.10 p.m.) Lisbon, April 30. The young Kins Manuel, in a pathetic speech at the opening of the Cortes, referred to his father's terrible martyrdom. ' The King is only 18 years of age. A Lisbon correspondent says:—" A report of a' marriage project between King Manuel of : Portugal and Princess Victoria of Prussia, .the daughter, of tho German Emperor, has been spread by some newspapers, who had based ; their statement on tlie forthcoming, visit of. the -Empetor William to Portugal. ' In .official quarters the report is declared to bo at any rate wholly prematuro. This is:the first meeting of the. Cortes since it was driven' out by the Premier-Dictator Franco."
