MANURING TESTS ON SWEDES.

; THE BEST FERTILISERS. : The Midland Agricultural and Dairy. Collego (Englaml) found,, in a.'manuring series of tests with swedes, that :— ; r. A small dressing of dung and artificials gives a larger crop than when duiig alone. i 3 used, either in small or large dressings! . '2. When. nitrate of ; soda is used as-a sourco of nitrogen .for; thp swede, crop, ..and ■ applied at the ;time of seeding,' it results in larger and moro profitable yields than when, the same, amount of nitrogen .is supplied in the, form' of sulphate of.ammonia'at 'seeding.'
