,Tho settlers who up the selections in the Nireaha Forest Reserve (says our correspondent), are busily engaged l fencing their sections', and a. few are. erecting dwellings. Several' are engaged - splitting: house blocks and posts for sale. The young grass is coining away well all over the district", as' the weather experienced- has " been more like spring ,'than autumn'.' ■ Mr. G. Waterson, of ; the Mangatainoka Valley Road, has disposed of his farm to. a Carterton , resident. ; . . I ,' '' t 'Mrs.- : E. Robinson,' of.' Nireaha, lias purchased a five-acre .orchard'in Hastings,, the price paid being £1200.'...' The orchard is said, by experts to be one.of the best, and' most profitable.'in .that district.;' . ■.■'■■■ -Mr. Findla'y, dairy' inspector;. has making -visits throughout this locality,, and." already improvements are' being carried out •which-will make a difference'in some of; the milk.' Farmers in this locality mostly, welcome the inspector, and agreVthat inspection is necessary. . Tho local 'dairy factory, is running'every day.-: The amount'of milk received -daily is 400 gallons. . . ,
