'At a meeting of creditors held, yesterday,' the solicitor appearing for tho debtor stated that somo of tlio creditors .wished tho proceedings to bo taken in camera, and asked • the Official Assignee (Mr. G.' L. Greenwood) to ask. tho "Press" representative, who was the only reporter present, to withdraw. ,Mr. Greenwood sßid that reporters had 110 legal 'right to attend those meetings, but their: .reports , did n great deal ot . good 111 giving publicity to fraudulent bankruptcies and putting the tradespeople on their guard. Again, it pfessed very hardly on somo per-. sons, who through ill-health or some unfortunate circumstances wore forced to filo, and he regretted that the .proceedings wore published in such cases. However, as that would be his last sitting in the capacity of Official Assignee, lie took tlio opportunity of thanking tho reporters for the courtesy extended to him ahd their ready complianco with nuv w'ish he : might havo 'expressed. l On putting tho motion' to the vote, seven were for the proposal and four.'against As this was only a small proportion of there present, the Official Assignee said lie could not ask tho reporter to withdraw.
