v-'-' ■ PROJECTED ENDURANCE TEST. PRELIMINARY' ARRANGEMENTS.' ■A meeting of citizens to arrange details ■in oonncctdoii with the club-swinging enduranoe test, which Mr. Tom' Burrows intends to undertake at tho.Thieatre Royal this week was held yesterday afternoon. Mr. James Doyle, who was voted to the chair, said that Mr. Burrows was a ,magnificent athlete, who had been honoured by Sovereigns, and had won championships all over tho world.,' What was all tho more gratifying was that he was a colonial, having been'born in Australia. If one could watch Mr. Burrows swinging the clubs one would be amazed to see the number of muscles brought into play. At one time he (the speaker) was considered an oxpert club-swinger—as a matter of fact, he was the first, in the Dominion—but after having had the • privilege of watching, Mr ( Burrows in action it gavo him pleasure to say that the display ...was a revelation to him, and lie only regretted that he had not seen; Burrows twenty years ago-.
