The address which, the "Hon. the Premier, Sir Joseph Ward, delivered before the members of the Liberal and Labour Federation last evening on the financial results of the year ending March 31 last must have been gratifying to those present as'showing a buoyant revenue. Sir Joseph announced a surplus over expenditure of £767,849; a record in its way for this country' and if only it meant the slightest relief for the already over-burdened taxpayer it would be hailed with even greater . satisfaction. On this point, however, there was the''.usual'silence. We must reserve any detailed remarks we may feel called upon to make as regards the figures for another occasion;
