MR. BAILUE'S TOUR, INTERESTING STATISTICS. Tho City Council has decided to; take ad'vantago of the visit of the Chief Municipal Librarian (Mr. Herbert Baillie) to tho United States by authorising/him to spend £150 for. the purchase of books and periodicals in America, and to appoint nil agent in that /country/as book-buyer,for tho Public Library. Tho Council will also, contribute £75 towards Mr. Baillio's expenses on account of •his proposed : attendance while >in Amoriea at . the Congress of tho Libraries Association.
