'The Ngunguru arrived from Karamea at 10.15 ,to-night.-Captain Flctcher reports that' the Taviuni is about 300-yards west of tho breakwater, lying broadside on to. tho sea. V .There is a big swell, and it is probable that the vessel will be driven further ashore on : ' tho sandy bqach. A, tug has gono out. Tho s.s. Komata leaves at midnight, and, tho Mapourika is, expected from Greymouth about 5 o'clock. High tide is about 4 o'clock, and an attempt is to be made, to get a cable aboard the .Taviuni. to, hold her till tho tido is at ; • tho full. The Taviuni loft Wellington op Tuesday, for Westport. . , , THE LATEST. The position is somewhat; serious with the '- Taviuni. Seas,are breaking over tho vessel. . An attempt is being made to carry linef ashore. There are four passengers on board ! two of them being ladies. 1
