[Br Glencoe.] Six starters. appeared for the Trial Plate, Separator being made a very hot favourite. Tho finish was a very fmo one,'the thr'eo placed horses being separated by heads only, with two o£ the .'others close up. Separator' began well, but San Jose followed closely.: and ■ soon got on terms, and Nightmaro appeared, when the straight was reached.- San Joso-finished splendidly, and just gained the verdict. , ■

A field of seven contested the Mangaono Stakes, for which Gold Thread was made a better favourite- than Dusky -Morn. ; The latter .was out, of the barrier quickly, but he. did not appear to find his feet smartly,; and lost ground at the start, which ho was ! unable to recover. Gold Thread took up • the running immediately,' and nover appeared , to be in trouble. She won; by. a length .and a ■ half; with' something in .hand.' Lord Soult , ■w<is in tho second position going down, the back, but Dusky .Morn ran inside of him and Lord Soult gradually died'away towards the ; end of tile journey. Ballarat was never prominent. -Kitchcnmaid did not-commence too .well, but finished. strongly and managed ;to' head Lord Soult. In tho straight Irish Riflo - and Miss Vera wore never, dangerous.

At the finish he appeared to. lack'paco'rather than : stamina. Loiret was orio :of' the first to show out; and she ;was always in a nice, position" on the rails. ' At a mile and a furlong sho moved into third place, but could not'keep her position.- Hiro ran badly. Flamen was near the front as they passed tlio stand, but he gradually fell back and finished last. 'This is his last appearance on tho racing track, his owner having'decided to pension him off on a liberal allowance for'the remainder of his days. :

\AII the acceptors appeared for the. Onepulu, Hack ..Welter, which-was won rather easily by Ikon. Mahoo arid, ltangihaeta raced together for fivo furlongs, and were then beaten.' Flingot finished well, but could not extend Ikon. Sconery did not'get away well, but sho put in a good run'in the straight and got within' a length" of Flingot. Maidi whipped round s-hen the barrier Hew up and took no part in tho race. ■ .

Irish Rifle, Miss Vera^and. withdrawn from the Halcombe Welter. Silver Lead was the best backed, but though ho bogan smartly lie was unable to keep 'the load for more than a couple of furlongs. Gleam ran'among the leaders for half tile distanco, but was the last to finish. Little Marv got tho worst of the start, "but sho quickly ran'through the field, and throe furlongs 'from':home she had'a lead of a couple of lengths in the straight. ' She tired quickly and succumbed to successive challenges.from King Post and Probability. The latter came very, fast in the last hundred yards, arid made a. neat finish of it. ' Daisy Paul and Rendrock made a very poor showing.

Ikon, Fairland, and Astraea were the withdrawals'from the Ongo Hack. The start was delayed a considerable time by Vasa and Chase Mab breaking away. Eventually tho latter got a good ,start, and taking a couple of lengths' lead maintained it till the finish. Miss Advance, who was vory solidly backed, did not run up to expectations. -She got away protty well, but did not appear to have the necessary paco. Vasa was badly left, but mado tip a lot of ground, and would probably have won with a decent start. Yosami did not go up to tho barrier for a long time, and. when the field moved off she was shut out. The rest were a poor lot.
