ANTIPODES. While agreeing in the main with the sentiments expressed in the letter by " Inquirer " on the " Future of Wellington," I wish to point out that to call it the " Empire City of tho Antipodes" is a contradiction in terms. It is the Empire City of the ' Southern ( Hemisphere; tho Antipodes is where tho other fellows live, at the other end of the world; Wellington is hero.—l am, etc., A. S. A. SCHOOL COMMITTEE ELECTIONS. Sir, Within a few days there will bo tho annual election of tho School Committees, ru. i am the leaders of the . Churches aro striving to cause the members of their belief to be selected, so as to try and introduce JJiblo teaching into our public schools. I trust all sensible householders will consider their children's intelligence. Let our children bo taught to live good lives, kind to each other, respect for their parents, and love to their country; a veneration for the great unknown Power which controls'the vast universe. I am sure this object is a worthy one for the sake of the poor and distressed, especially in fever cases, which spread so rapidly. Let us, then, take it up with energy and make it a huge success, so that we can point at the new citizens' fever ward as a worthy memento of \ benevolent generosity. _ I, am sure, sir, the efforts you can use will seild it forward with success.
