I was shoim' two very effective hats in this colour: Oho was a wide cloche . shape of cense straw covered with laburnum trails in tho samo shado, and 'with a pom-pom of little black wings ,in tho front to give'' the definite touch -required to make such a vivid colour smart. : 'lbe other was a slashing hat, with wide bhm- sid jam-pot crown,, both edged with velvet of one-shade darker.' -This was: trimmed with three hiige : pom-poms, ; cerise, white, and black. .' " ■'
The very newest hats' are made without.' a bandeau; arid they are riot designed to suit women who have absolutely foresworn, hairpads of any kind, for they' must be. raised a little off the faco. The no-pad brigade has, it is said, many new adherents during ;tbe last .and;its members are beginning to ask,why they;cannot get;hats t:> suit them. Tlio; answer is,', that'while' for evenings the ;hair may look very'well; drossed without' ,pads, l the 1 style'; is not suited for the. hats of the. day.. ' ' .
