IS IT COWPOX?
A complaint has broken out amongst many cattle in this district '(says our Bavin correspondent), which is believed, to bo cowpox. It has been materially assisted by the hot and dry summer wo have just experi- ' oncwd. Mr. Rcid, of the Government Veterinary Department, made a visit to Levin on Monday to investigate. He made a close, examination of many of the beasts, and has collected milk, etc., to assist him in the investigation;' but as vet no word has boon received as to what' the complaint is.
