London's inability to accommodate tho largest class of vessels has been frequently emphasised of late in discussions of the problem of the port, but Lord Desborough protects that it is not in so bad 'plight in thisrespect as has been suggested. Since 1890, when the Royal Commission was appointed, ho says the number of large-vessels'using the Thames has increased "greatly'.'; in that year tho record was 30 vessels of over 5000 tons, whereas in 1907 tho number was 154. ;
