Wesley College,Melbourne, was fifteenth, and Geelong eighteenth. .. Pietermaritzburg won tho cadet match with a scor'o of 470, Gympia Central School '.being ninth. . , The cotnmitteo report a great improvement all round, especially/in tho colonies. This is the fourth year of. the Schools of the Empire match,' and. the/second win for the Brisbane Grammar School, iis previous win being on. the occasion of the initial match. Robb, of No. 1 Battalion of tho School Cadets (Onchunga),'in which reference.is made to tile invitation from Lord Roberts to Sergeant Freer, of the Onohiinga District High School, to. visit England aiid outer for the ' 'Lady Guinness "shooting competition;,; for which representatives will be forthcoming from tho various parts of ; tho Empire. l Mr. Freer (the writer stated) had decided to' pay his son's passage, but it seemed hardly fair''to allow liim to boar tlio wliolo cost. A number of citizens had therefore requested him (tlio writer) to approach tho Mayor with tlio proposal to raise a public: subscription. In accordanco with this request Mr. Myors this morning opened a subscription' list at tho Town Clerk's office. Mr., Myers has headed tlio list' with £3 3s.
