RESTAURANT KEEPER'S BANKRUPTCY
The first meeting of.'creditors in the estato of Fred Staples, 'restaurant v kaeper, Master-, ton, was' liold yesterday. " Bankrupt's liabilities amount to £241 93.; the assets are: — Book debts, £79 19s. 6d.; ; furniture, £50; total, £129 19s. Gd. . ■ 1 .. The stated that ho started business with £40, but owed-£IOO. The business was'good at the' start,' but the expenses were heavy, including'rent i)ss., wages of a; cook £2, and wages of ! a' girl 15s. During the' seven months he was in business, ho had had seven ■ different cooks, and'consequently lost trade. ; : It was resolved 'to hand over any surplus over tlio £25 worth of furniture allowed under tho Act to debtor's wife. Debtor will bo allowed to collect outstanding debts and hand the same to the assignee. AVhen payment sufficient to'givo.tho creditors 2s. 6d. in tho pound is 1 made tlio debtor's discharge will bo reoommended.
