■ . :I . . * — • Tho Onslow Borough Council met last evenng. -Present The Mayor (Mr.' J. G. Hark- ■ less), presiding, Councillors W. R. Plinuner, 3. Lynneberg, C. Aplin, J. E. Fitzgerald, and. ?. Kierman. .1 The engineer's report for the twelve months inding March-31 stated that 45 building pernits had been issued, of which 40 were • for Iwellings, representing a total value for new raildings and. alterations of .£18,224, made up is, followGroftori (including Nairnville);- ]G louses,'' value ..£GS3S; Ivhandallah, 20 houses, ?alue .£8592; Kaiwarra,' 9 houses, .£2794. The :otal was an. increase' of ,£llO2 on the value >f- buildings. erected during 1 the preceding ;welvc months, when tho total value, incluling Wadcstown, was ,£17,0G2. The total length , of, new streets formed by different land companies was 85 chains, and of new streets under construction, and not open for ;raffic, 74 .chains. The area of land subdivided into ' building, allotments was 75 acres, incluling now streets. Tho number of sections in:luded ill .this area was 237. A petition was received for the abatement of i nuisance caused b.v wandering' cattlc. It • vas decided to take stops, in the matter, and ;o advertise for. tho services of a rangor for ;hc borough. - Mr.'A. B. Barnes wroto asking that tho lewly-fovmod road, giving approach to his property at Crofton, be named, and suggesting ;he appellation Worcester Kond. It was revived to call tho thoroughfare Williams load, after Mr. 11. B. Williams, ex-Mayor. Accounts were passed for payment tq the imount of JS2-J9 7s. 4d.
