He had also valvular diseaso of the heart, but'tho doctor was of opinion, that death was due to drowning. Deceased was last, seen in tho Provincial, Hotel at 8.15 o'clock onV Saturday night, when ho appeared' to be .quite sober. '; ; Foxton, April 7. Mr. Bernard Spelman, a well-known local resident, diod suddenly yesterday morning, aged 36 years. Deceased leaves a widow, four sons- and two daughters.. Miss Martha Jones, tho victim of Saturday's accident, and who expired yteUauuy,' was in partnership with her, sister in a grocery business at New Plymouth, and was on a holiday at tho time of the accident. A formal inquiry was held to-day beforo Captail Mowle'm. Dr. JJrlson stated that' he h«d made a postmortem examination, and had found that death was duo to shock, tho result of;'homorrlia[£o. from a laceration of tho left lung.
