Tho stormy weather last week did a good deal of damage in South Westland, tho traffic being interrupted for ten days. Mr. Soddon, M.P.i.who is on a tour of the district delivering post-sessional addresses, was delayed ton days in the Haast district owing to floods and damaged road. The storm was a prolonged one, and in twelve days twenty inches of rain fell at Okuru. Lightning and thunder were almost incessant. Tho telephono line was badly, damaged, and is still interrupted. In tho far South floods destroyed roads, and all the ford crossings were badly damaged.
