LOCAL INDUSTRIES WEEK.
——f-*— ——}:, Mr. H. F. Allen, secretary of the Welling- • ton Provincial Industrial Association, is pro. ceeding with the arrangements for the proposed"Local Industries' Week." He has addressed ' the following -circular-letter to a large number of local manufacturers:— : ' . ."At a recent meetiDg of this. Associa- • tion, the question of a display of local manufactures in shop, windows for one week each year, to be'known as the 'Eocal Industries Week," 'was brought forward, and very favourably received by the Association and the Press. The "suggestion is that each large shop should bo. invited to make an exhibit ol one or more particular . New Zealand manufacture, and that tho month of June would be a suit- . able time for making the- display. . Subcommittees will be appointed to'further the proposal, and it .is considered to. be of importance first to ascertain what support manufacturers would give to. the scheme. I am, therefore, directed to, ask if- you would be prepared to support it by. the loan, and display, in such shop or shops as may be arranged, of one or more articles of local manufacture in which yon aro interested. Anticipating that yon will ' give the proposal your hearty ..support, l I am "directed to ask for the favour of a prompt reply on the accompanying form."
