' ••• The resignation of the' matron of Victoria Hospital .was'-accepted with, regret, and she -was--granted !one;-month!s- salary in, lieu of overdue holidays. It was resolved to invite applications for the • position at, a salary of £100 a year. ' , : . ' It was reported that there were 210 patients .(including 23 'children and 26 fever patients) in tho main hospital, 43 in the Victoria Hospital, and ■ 23- in the Seddon ■Hospital, making a grand total of 266, as ■ compared with 233 for . the corresponding period of 1907. . i ' The House Committee reeommended, certain amendments in : tho conditions regarding competitive for the hospital additions, to meet the views of the Wellington Association of Architects. The Chairman said tho Committee had had the advico of the Government Architect (Mr. Campbell), The report was adopted. . ' . The. following payments wero authorised: March, £503 lis. lid,.; wages , (fortnight), £141 1631 Bd.; interest Rhodes Estate loan, £105 153.; petty cash, March, £5.105. 4d. • .: 1 The secretary 1 reported that the salaries during the : month. of Fobruary were £483 16s. 4d.'i as compared with £437 13s. 4d. for March, 1907. . . . ,
