The Hon. T. W. Hislop will address meetings of his supporters for the Mayoralty, as-fol-lows:—New Century Hall, Kent Terrnco, tonight; Roseneath Schoolroom, to-night; The nail, Palm Grove, Berhampore, to-morrow; Aro Street Mission Hall, Wednesday; Kclburno Bowling Green. Pavilion, Wednesday. The meetings will begin at 8 p.m. The Newtown Committeo will meet at the Crown Studio, Newtown, at 7.30 to-night. If the Government is to remain representative of tho wishes of different classes of the people we need either shorter Parliaments or some better system of representation than the choice of a party nominee, which is offered at present. Othorwise we shall have democracy expressed by an executive tyranny, jn placo of democracy working through a parliamentary Journal^
