BRITISH LADS AS IMMIGRANTS.
The Immigration. League of Australasia is being convinced from . two quarters, that a movement to bring large.numbers of lads from the Old Country to Australia .would be attended with great success. From every sido (says the Sydney '"Daily Telegraph ) there conies a demand from farmers for lads between the ages of 15 and'lß years,- to work in the country. If hundreds were available they could all bo placed at onco at fair wages. Oh the other hand, every mail brings a number of letters from lads in tho British Islesy stating their desiro to follow a life on the land in Australia. Some of these, have already farming experience, while others have none. Even tlioso without experience could bo found places in the country, or sent for a month or two to the Pitt Town farm "to learri the rudiments of agriculture. Dr. Arthur, tho president of the League, will introduce a deputation .to the Premier, at which this matter will be specially brought before him, and the suggestion made that reduced passages should be offered to such lads as are prepared to work on farms. It is believed that the shipping companies will be prepared to co-operate in this proposal.
