, # _—*__• ' The Wellington Amateur Swimming; Club cot off the final distance —140 yards—for tho W. B. Missen Cup at To Aro Batli6 yesterday evening. The water was rough, but eight competitors lined out on the starting board. The race resulted N. J. Gandy, 118 sec., 1; C. Aston, lOOsec., 2; and L. Bridge, 62sec., 3. The other starters were G. C. . Crawford, 150 sec.;' B. O'Neill, lOOsec.; D. M'Leod, (Msec.; C. Morse, 50sec.; C. Ward, lOsec. Time, Bmin. 23eec. There was a great race home between Gandy and A6ton, the former gaining the verdict bv ii touch. Bridgfi was some distance behind, and just managed to beat Morse for third place. Gandy thus wins the cun with 10 points, Aston and Bridge tving for second place with 3 points odch, and O'Neill coming next with 2 points.
