Mr. Seifert (President) .stated that he had telegraphed to tho Valuer-General asking' for re-valua-tion of flax properties in view of tho fall, in prices, and had received a reply stating that/it-would.-bo necessary to make application in individual cases. It was decided to circularise members, on tho subject. It was resolved to make representations to the shipping companies on tho matter of freight and charges in view of the'present situation, -but it was considered unreasonable to ask for any reduction in railway charges. Mr. Toogood explainod tho position in connection with a patent flax-dressing machine, and after discussion it was resolved to communicate with the Patent Office and with tho various flaxmilling association's with a view to give tho mach.ino a trial.
