VIVIAN ST. BAPTIST CHURCH.
The Baptist schoolroom at Vivian Street was packed last night; when the Church anniversary meeting and social were held. The secretary's report, showed that continued pro-, gress lind been made in T.U department, of the Church. During tho year-JO now members had been received into fellowship. The treasurer reported that .the total receipts of the Church had beeai ,£1320, an increase of. .£250. over the previous, year; J3320 of this had "been devoted to foreign and' homo mission work. During the'evening three minute speeches were delivered by the heads of the different branches of Church work, who reported'on their work for the year. The.Hey. J. North! in his opening address,, referred to the exceedingly happy year spent in tho Church, ami tho ill pre new outlets for their energy; first tlio institution' of a monthly, magazine, then ■the • Sunday School campaign, with the object of increasing tho attendance and efficiency of the Sunday School, and third, tile evangelistic campaign of a new type, which is to begin early in May. Tho Rev. A. A. Wilson's address on "Glorying in the Church" was a rousing appeal for enthusiasm in the church as an institution and" as a great social and religious opportunity. Mrs. Sutclift'e gave two fine recitations, 'Which were lunch appreciated, and various musical items were rendered by members of' tho choir.
