WAIKATO FLAXMILLER BUYING FOll ' A, RISE. A Waikato flaxmillor, in a communication to the Gcfernment Hemp Grader in Auckland (telegraphs our Auckland correspondent), expresses the opinion that there will shortly bo a rise in the price of-flax. As a proof of his confidenco in the market, ho states that ho has purchased 100 tons of green flax for delivery in tlio winter months. Ho odds that it is the usual tiling for a number of the mills to closo in tho winter, and this should explain, to somo' extent' at any rate, tli6 closing down of some of the mills already. Although the purchaso of 100 tons of gi'CMMi leaf at this crisis is certainly a good proof of enterprise and confidence, tho quantity is insignificant. The 100 tons of leaf is only equivalent to 12J tons of fibre. (
