A DEPUTATION' TO THE -HON. ■R. '' ; ; -v; ' M'NAB. . Christchurch, March , 30. • , A deputation, consisting' of Dr. Coleridge Farr, Dr. 'Chilton,' and Mr. -R. Speight,waited, oil the Hon. R. M'Nab on.Saturday to discuss'matters connected with tho records! of tho recent scientific oxpedition, to. tho. Auckland and Campbell Islands, which was carried out under the, auspices'of the Philosophical Institute. The Minister requested the deputation to send in a formal application, and ho would discuss with his ' colleagues - what assistance the Government would; give/ He considered it was of great ' importance to have- the State associated with tho ' expedition, 1 and tho records could only bo protected and preserved by publication, iii a volume which should contain tho findings of the experts in their own particular lines,; with illustrations, indicative of the - marvellous forms of animal lifo and specimens of various'kinds, which wero obtained. .
