A visit of inspection was paid to' tbe newlycompleted Garrison Hall in Bucklo Street yesterday afternoon. The building has not yet boon formally hqnded over to the trustees, as thero aro ono or two little things to bo seon to.
A labourer named Frederick J. Arlidgo, residing at 126 Nelson Street, Petono, . met with an accident in a storeroom of tho Government Railway Station, Waterloo Quay, at midday yesterday. . Arlidgo was severely injured through a p stack of corrugated iron,' about a ton in weight, falling on top of him. It appears that the man was working iii company with tho foreman of tho store and a labourer checking tho number of sheets; of iron in a stack. The stack was reared up on one end a little, but the weight became too much , for the men, who had to let go. Arlidge tried to jump out of tho way, but in doing so tripped, tho stack of iron falling on him. ' Dr. Webster was called in, and ordered the man's removal to tho' hospital, where it. was found that he had fractured hisjaw, besides receiving a' severe cut on the lip,'and bruises on tho chest and leg." '
