SHOT WITH A REVOLVER.
■ : : AN ENGINEER: WOUNDED. - ' An engineer named George Gilbort M'lntyro, employed as. second , engineer .of the Government steamer Tutanekai, . a./married man aboup; forty-six years of age, residing in Hutchoson Road, was admitted, to tho .Hospital on Saturday morning' suffering" from' a revolver wound in the stomach. Inquiries made by tho police show that M'lntyro had complained of being ill for, sotnoT'time 4 past,-, pains in the head 'having moved;him;, to,remark that." ho. felt at times as if he' would go off his head." . Ho had been on lcavo for about : seven weeks, and under medibal treatment, but returned to'work last week, although he, .felt-, no. ; better, than when ho Becured. his;, leave.. Qn. ,Saturday ,morning M'lntyre got up about 6 o'clock and. wandered aWt„ the house for some time.' As he' was looking ' Very- unwoll, lie was', persuaded to go back to bod again. • About 9 o'clock ho went out into the kitchen, and asked to,-'see .'his. children. 'Ho then .wont back into his room, and a little'later tho foport. of a gun was heard from tho. room. On investigating the causo of tho report, M'lntyre was found,at,tho door, of the,bedroom'with a; revolver lying at his. feet. Dr. Cameron was called in, and found "a bullet wound in the region tho stomach. After tho wound had been dressed,; M'lntyro, who was then ■in a . very low condition, was removed to tho, Hospital. Ho l underwent an operation immediately; and the bullet'was extracted. Oil inquiry at tho Hospital yesterday, wo woro informed that M'lntyro was' slightly easior, but was in a sorious condition. M'lntyro had" been employed on the Tutanokai for about; eighteen months, and was a capable and popular officer. ' ■ .
