Sir,—l saw an article in your paper this • morning referring to .the resignations from the locomotive branch of tho Government Railways,'and containing a statement fromtlie General Manager regarding tho rapid' promotion, and consequent increase of pay. I am acquainted with men who havo sevenand eight. years' service, and who havo passed their examination . as second-grade drivers,'and who got tho princoly wage; oi Bs. per day. I don't, think that; any "other employee in any other business in tho Dominion is-paid less, and very few:, have to work any other hours than eight to five. Is it a fact that the : amended Classification Act is not .yet 'in. force for the second division?—l.'am, etc., ■' HARD FACTS. March 26, 1908. .' v
