Tho scheme is' to utilise a tract of land adjoining the-Tilbury Docks. The details are as follow ;Totnl area covered ... ■ 474 acres Water area ..'.v ... 242 acres' Depth of water ... .!. 45, feet ' Total 1 longth of quays ..: 5J miles Number of berths • 60 Warehouse ai'oa .;. 51J aorcg Tl;e docks would accommodate, vessels up to 1000- feet long, anil drawing thirty-fivo :.foet of water. ••Thqy would be ablo to enter and leavo at all states of tho tide. ... •; Mr. Holland told 'an "Express" representative that a larger dock would' havo to 'he-con-structed, since it was necessitated by the requirements of ships, which were increasing dailv. •->. Tilbury was the only, possible place where a dock could bo constructed. 1
