It, is estimated that tho estate of the lato Mrs. Rylaads, of Manchester, will benefit tho Exchequer to' the amount :of £650,000. -i ' ' . In his address at tho funeral of Mrs. Bylands in Manchester in February, tho Rev. Silvester Il'orno paid a full acknowledgment of her public Services and private .'virtues. lie spoko of her simple, direct, strong character;' of the quietness with which her duties were discharged; of her lack uf'interest in what is called "society;" of her love of doing good and tho discretion she employed in the choice of moans and methods. She would ever remain, ho said, to those who, knew her "an incomparable example a woman self-dedi-cated to an ideal of duty."" From the church a Krcat procession walked slowly lo tho crematorium, some half rnilo distant. Crowds of pcoplo lined the road, and respect and sympathy seemed written on every face. There was a simplo- service; which Mr. Homo conducted. The ashes were placed later in the. grave of the late Mr. John Rylands, over which an unusually elaborato monumont ihas beeii placed. ■
