FORTNIGHTLY MEETINC. Tho Wellington City Council met last night. There wero present:—The'Mayor (Hon. T. W. Hislop), Councillors J. P. Luke, F. Cohen, T. BallingeiyJ. Hales, F. M. B. Fisher, A. S. Biss, R. Fletchcr, T. Carmichael, D. M'Liiren, A. .1 lindiuai'sh, and W. 11. Morrah. Leave of absence was granted to Councillors G. Shirtcliffo and J. Smith. Tho Baths and City Reserves Committee recommended' that an amount bo provided oil next year's estimates sufficient to cover the cost of erecting a fence at the Kolburno Park. ; Tho Oommitteo reported that they had received a deputation from the Wellington Football Association asking for permission to uso tho eastern part of tho Basin Reserve during the coming season for football purposes, and tho Committee would recommend that the application be granted, subject to this permission being revoked when deemed necessary. .That they had received an application from tho .Wellington.Lacrosse Club for tho use of a portion of tlio Basin Reserve for tile incoming season, aiitf the Committee would recommend that permission be granted, subject to it being revoked when deemed necessary.
