Coburn' for , trespass as a bookmaker was called on. Tho , evidence for the defonce showed that the defendant had obtained admittance to' the course with the intention of finding employment as a bookmaker's clerk, but had doiie no betting himself. Tho caso was dismissed, each side, to pay their own.costs. In the caso Pahiatua Racing Club v. J. C. Palmer, bookmaker, for trespass, defendant was fiiied £10, and costs amounting to £3. . Tlib annual general' meeting of tho Woodlands Hunt Club took placD on Wednesday evening, when tho balance-sheet for the past yoar," showing a credit balance 0f,£47 195., was., adopted., With regard to tho forthcoming; mooting, a similar, programme to last- ; yoar was adopted, with the exception that the ~ "Bqiicolct raco" was' cut out uiiid a " Members race" substituted.
