WELLINGTON RUCBY UNION. The first mooting of tho recently-elected Management Committee of tlio Wellington Rugby Uiiioil was hold last evening. Tnero wore present Messrs. S. S. Brown (in tlio chair), J. Murray, J. Sweeney, l<\ Alpe, G'. V. Bogle, E. 0. Hales, J. O'Sullivan, Burns, W. Hardham, and W. G. Talbot (secretary).' ill 1 . S. S. Brown was re-elected to the position of Chairman of the Committco for the ensuing year. ' A letter was received from the secretary of tlio Wellington Hospital Trustees stating that the charge for treating footballers injured during tlio soason, who might be unablo to pay their own expenses, if such privilege Were required, would bo £50. Tlio Utter was received. _ Tho Wellington Club was granted permission to play the Christcluirch Club on the Athletic Park on Easter Saturday. The Wellington Colloge Old Boys were, allotted the same ground on tho samo day for,the annual match with, the Christchurch High School Old Boys. . ■ 'It was decided to pay the expenses of a delegate of tho Wellington Referees' Association to the annual Confcrenco of Referees in Auckland. ■ The St.. Patrick's College Club wrote •intimating, that they will be unable to enter a team for the Wednesday competition. ■ . The Oriental Club advised that they intended entering teams for all competitions, from senior to fifth-class, and two teams for the Wednesday competition. The following sub-committees were, set uo: Insurance Committee, Messrs. G. V. Bogle,i F. Alpe, J. O'Sullivan. and Burns; Postponement. Committee. Messrs. J. ; Sweeney, S. S. Brown, and the secretary; Transfer: Committee, Messrs. Hales, Brown, Murray,and the secretary; Draw-ins Committee, Messrs, Brown, Hales, and W. Hardham ; Referees Appointment Board, Messrs. Murray and Sweeney. The Wellington Referees' Association forwarded tho names of Messrs. Laws, O'Connoil, and M'Kay as members to represent the Association on the Referees' Appointment Board. •'A letter was received from the Athletic Park Co. covering a chequo for' £168 ls. -2d._,. tho amount in dispute i with ,the Union in the Park Company's balance-shecii of 1904. . It was resolved to set un a committee consisting of one member, of each Wednesday club, and Mr. O'Sullivan, to manage tho Wednesday competition. It was decided to commence matches for. all grades on April 25. Apropos of the suggestion of free passes for ex-representative, players, the secretary stated that tho number of ex-rep*sentativo players was about 310. WELLINGTON FOOTBALL ASSOCIATION. ! Tlio Management Committee of the Wellington Football; Association mot last night, Mr. B. L. Salmon occupying the chair.. I Sir. G. F. Brodio Was appointed -. solo senior selector for the season. Tho Swifts were permitted to .play Nelson, and West-port at Nelson at-Easter. ■ The following were re-elected a boys' subcommitteeMessrs.'B. L. Salmon, A. Barnett, and H. N. Holmes. Tlio New Zealand Football Association intimated that tho Brown Shield' Tournament would be riayed in Otago this season. Mr. H, M'Keown. was appointed chairman of the Management Committee this year, and it was decided that meetings be held weekly oil. Wednesdays. ■ Messrs. Salmon, '• DavidJon, and .Waters were appointed a grounds' committee, and Messrs. Brodie, Barnett, and ■ M'Kay were' appointed a postponement committee. •' Permission was granted to tho Northern Wanderers to alter, their name to Wanderers conditionally on "the Petono ' Wanderers changing their name to-Pot-one. ' J , : It was decided to-inform the Thistlo Club and Miramar Rangors that the colours which they propose to assumo would clash With the colours of tho Diamond Club.
Applications for affiliation wero granted as follmv : — Letter: Carriers' Club (junior' grade); Southern Cross, Porirua, which was permitted to change its liaine' to Porirua (junior, grade); VMiramar Rangers (fourth and fifth grades). It was reported that the Miramar Borough■ would, at its next meeting; consider the ad-, visableness of rescinding a motion granting tho use of Seatoun Park to the Association" : On tho motion of Mr. J. J, Roberts, it was resolved that tho Wellington B.F.II; bo asked if .the Rugby deputation that' waited, on. the Council ■ with request that it reconsider its' decision to. grant, the use of the Park to tho Wellington F.A. was sent with tlio authority, of the, Union. It was also agreed that (a deputation wait on the Council on tlie matter.
