NAPIER CARNIVAL.
BOWLING TOURNAMENT. . (BY TELEGltAPH—press association.') Napier, March 25. The Carnival bowling tournament progressed a little further to-day. Light showers fell in the morning, but it rained steadily during the greater part of tho afternoon. In the Citizens' Rink Match, Crowley's team (30) beat Terry's (12), Tabuteau's rink (24) beat Williams's rink (13). In'tho final; Tabuteau's rink (22) beat .Crowley's (8). ' In the Pairs Matches, Dean and Tabutcau (24) beat\Cowell and Williams (11), and will play Yates and Bull in the final. • MILITARY EVENTS. The military,! tournament in ' connection with the carnival was commenced to-day, when tho various infantry events wore got off, 'some taking place in Clive Square, and tho remainder in the. Theatre Royal duiing the afternoon and evening. The weather was showery all day. About 460 'competing Volunteers were present, competitors culling from Auckland m. the North, and; as far South as Invercargill.
