E.Keyser'presided and .proposed the toast of " Prosperity to the Schools:!' He,'. said Hhe. institution was founded in 1845 by Mr;, J. ,-R. Cuftley, a cofiimdfcial traveller. At first .a. Gchool was established at Wanstead, but it was very soon found insufficient,, and in.; 1855 the buildings on the-present site were formally , opened by -the Prin'co Consort.
