VALUE OF DRY FEED.

MILK FLOW INCREASED. A farmer, speaking to our Manawatu correspondent, concerning feed for stock during tho. winter, remarked that lie had noticed since the recent rains that the grass had grown rnpidl.v, and that his cows, in order to counteract the effects 'of tho young green grass, were noticed to,pay particular attention to a number of dry rushes in the field. This convinced tho farmer, that it was necessary at this season of tlie year, as well as in tho winter, to have at hand an alnui lant Supply of dry fodder. Fortunately, this farmer is well fortified, and he was able to put the knife into orto of his hav stacks, and deal out the hay to his milking cows. Ho says that within a few days a remarkable .increase in the milk yield has taken place.
